CONTRARY TO THE NAME, MAKING SCENES IS EXACTLY WHAT I DO.

Don't Make A Scene is the post-production company of AACTA Award nominated film editor Tayler Martin, specialising in editing, archival producing and post-production supervision.

Featured Projects

Crowded house - feature documentary

Over the past year, I've been working full time as post-production supervisor and archive producer on a Crowded House documentary. As post supervisor, I oversaw the post-production pipeline, while as archive producer I tracked down unique and rare archive across Australia and New Zealand, working alongside New Zealand archive producer Janine Hedley. I also mentored two edit assistants as part of a Screen Australia skills development initiative aimed at upskilling people in archival documentary filmmaking. While the editors have their heads down in the cut, I'll be stepping back in to finalise the later stages of post production later this year - but in the meantime, my books are open for 2026.

Meet tayler

Tayler Martin is an AACTA Award-nominated film editor, driven by a love of storytelling and guided by emotion and rhythm. She sees each project as an opportunity to immerse herself in a new world, to listen and learn, so that the heart of the story is captured in her work.

A pivotal experience was being one of three editors on the feature documentary Mystify: Michael Hutchence, which earned her an AACTA Award nomination for Best Editing. This project ignited her passion for documentary and archival storytelling.

Beyond editing, Tayler works as an Archive Producer and Post-Production Supervisor bringing expertise across the entire post-production workflow. She has spent a number of years fostering connections in the commercial archive space and has developed strong knowledge of clearance documentation and rights.

Most recently, Tayler has been post supervising and archive producing a feature documentary about the band Crowded House. She was also a mentor as part of Screen Australia's Skills Development Program, guiding two emerging edit assistants in the archival documentary space.

  • Tayler has been a fantastic team player on the Crowded House documentary; not only setting up processes and managing large amounts of archive but also throwing herself at production managing shoots that came up. Her skill and personal skills are A+!
