Discovery & Sourcing
The foundation of successful archive producing starts with a deep understanding of the story you are trying to tell.
From there, I work with my large network of commercial archive holders, drawing on established relationships built over years in the industry, to identify and obtain the material needed. Alongside this, I develop and nurture relationships with personal archive holders, whose collections often contain rare and unique material that cannot be found anywhere else.
Whether commercial or personal, these relationships are built on trust, and it is that trust which allows me to secure access to copies of the material to be used in the edit.
Support throughout the edit
As the edit develops and the story takes shape, I provide ongoing support - responding to new requests and sourcing additional material throughout.
Alongside this, I advise on best practice for data management and keep a meticulous log of all chains of title, so that the later stages of the project run smoothly and without surprise.
Clearance & Delivery
Once the cut is locked, all of the work and organisation maintained throughout the project comes into effect.
Timing durations are calculated, masters are requested, and I work with all relevant parties to ensure clearance documentation is signed and returned.
All contracts and financial records are kept in careful order throughout. Where required, I complete proof of clearance documentation for networks such as the ABC and BBC.
